Spiritual Formation: Day 29

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2).

"You have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him" (Colossians 3:9-10).

Your first freedom is where you will put your mind. Choosing to allow your mind to dwell on that which will nourish your soul is more than important; it's essential.

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things (Philippians 4:8, NIV).

**So today, I ask you: what are you thinking about?**

  1. Today I am thinking about how I am going to put food on the table for my children and how I am going to explain that we can't do certain things they may want to do. Then I remember that the Lord will sustain me through this crisis and my heart beats a little slower as I take a deep breath. Certainly thinking about these wonderful gifts the Lord entrusted to me is spiritually fulfilling, for they are Jesus' favored ones. These Little Children come to Him each day with happy hearts, and I realize how blessed I am.
