Best Valentine's gift

My husband Jack is a gift-giver. Birthdays, holidays, you name it--he always gives me a gift. He has an uncanny ability to give me something, large or small, to make me feel special. This Valentine's Day, though, Jack outdid himself. He chose a gift absolutely sure to please.

When I got home from taking Lee to school, I found a note on my computer saying: "Open iTunes. Click on TV shows. I love you!"

Can you see what's captured in this screen shot? Both seasons of Downton Abbey. Be still, my heart.

And the best part? Jack likes to watch it, too. Thank you, Lord, for giving me a romantic husband!

Did you get anything special for Valentine's Day?

  3. So sweet!!! I wish, oh how I wish, T and I had similar taste in TV or books, but he doesn't read and he likes ESPN or Fox News or The History Channel. :s

I LOVE Downton Abbey. I recorded this week's episode, but haven't had a chance to watch yet. You have such a thoughtful husband!

  5. My treasured gifts were all handmade: 4 precious valentines, one heart tile coaster of one of my 4 year old's artwork and a bouquet of hearts with the other 4 year old's handprints on them, topped off with heart pasta. It doesn't get any better!

  7. I thought you were going to say he gave you a trip to England to see Highclere Castle!

But the two series are nice too. :)

  8. Believe me, Shelly, we've been talking about another trip to England, and we've spent a lot of time looking at Highclere Castle online! :)

  9. I love a box of chocolates on Valentines Day, and this year Patrick brought assorted French chocolates back from his trip to France, in a pretty glass candy bowl. The best part--there were 94 pieces of chocolate! They're so rich, we can only eat 2 or 3 at a time, so they'll last a while!

  12. Oh how sweet! Aren't romantic hubbys the greatest gift ever?! We don't deserve them. Maybe our hubs are kindred spirits too (mine loves DA as well). Ha! For myself, there are parts of it that I LOVE, and then parts of it that leave me so depressed and disappointed in the writing quality. But maybe I'm just a tv snob. Something about it keeps me coming back for more though. I think it's the time period! I will say though, that I was very satisfied with the ending of this season. You?
