Grace at Home No. 100! A celebration and a special giveaway

Welcome, welcome, welcome!!
Grace at Home

Today is special around these parts.  It's Thursday, so it's time for the weekly Grace at Home linky party, and that's pretty special on its own.  But today is the 100th Grace at Home linky party, and that's worth celebrating!

Grace at Home is a party for celebrating all the ways we make our homes places of grace.  We are all recipients of God's grace.  We are dependent upon Him for everything!  It's a privilege to honor God by making our homes reflections of that grace in big and small ways.

So today is a party for a party.  Along with our regular linky party, I want to celebrate with everyone who has ever participated in Grace at Home.  How shall I do that?  Well, how about a giveaway?  It seems to me it would be good to mark this this 100th party occasion with a $100 GIVEAWAY!

No sponsors, no gimmicks, just $100 cash to celebrate this 100th party.  I hope you'll join the celebration by entering the giveaway!  (If you're reading this post in an email, click over to my blog to enter.)

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Next week I'll share some favorites from two weeks' worth of parties, but for now I just want to say a special thank you to everyone who has joined this party over the past couple of years!  I'm so grateful for each person who links up each week.  After all, it wouldn't be a party if no one participated!

Now for this week's party!  Grace at Home is a place for you to share anything related to making your home a place of grace. I invite you to link posts about
  • DIY projects
  • decorating
  • recipes
  • hospitality
  • homemaking tips
  • parenting
  • marriage
  • faith
  • self-care
  • soul care
Whatever you do to make your home a place of grace, I'd like to hear about it.  Here's what I ask of you.  Please include the permalink to your post, not your blog's home page.  Please let people know that you've linked up.  No more than three posts per person, please.  And visit at least one of the other party participants--that's what really makes it a party!  And don't forget to enter the giveaway to win

Caring for Myself Body and Soul 21:
Grace at Home Party

Welcome to the Grace at Home party!

This month I'm writing about taking care of myself body and soul.  Today I'm caring for myself by opening my blog to you so that I can see the ways you make your homes places of grace.  I don't feel that I've accomplished much over the last few days, but I can celebrate your accomplishments!  I can relish the fact that there are people all over the globe who are working hard to make beautiful, gracious homes for themselves and their loved ones.  That inspires me!

Here are a few of my favorites from last week's party:

Shenita from Embellishments by SLR turned her dining room into a beautiful, inviting space for Fall:

Marty at A Stroll Thru Life worked the same kind of Autumn magic in her breakfast room:

These Fall dining spaces are so inspiring to me!  And just look the cozy and warm homespun table setting created by from An Extraordinary Day:

Last week's party included some good food for the soul, too.  I was particularly challenged this post from Let Why Lead called "Surprise! I Was a Lousy Wife!"

The Marriage Diaries at letwhylead.com
And in this season when we're all so busy,  I was really glad to read "10 Practical Ways to Show Love to a Perfect Stranger" by Abby at Chapter 37.

Those are just a few of my favorites.  Thank you to everyone who joined the party!  I'm so grateful for each person who links up each week. If you've been featured this week (or in a previous week), feel free to grab the "I was featured" button (the code is right over in my sidebar).  I'd be so proud if you displayed it!

Caring for Myself Body and Soul 17:
Celebrating with the Grace at Home party

Welcome, friends!  It's time for the Grace at Home party!

This month I'm writing every day about taking care of myself body and soul.  Today I'm caring for myself by celebrating all the ways we make our homes places of grace.

Here are a few of my favorites from last week's party:

Debby from My Favorite Things created a simple but delightful Fall vignette.  Debby's photos are always food for my soul!

Nici at Posed Perfection made a beautiful Autumn centerpiece for her table.  Read her post to learn her secret for getting the arrangement just right.

Using a Rustic Toolbox for a Fall Centerpiece

Sweet Debbie from Debbie-Dabble is celebrating a remodeled kitchen.  Debbie calls her style "country Victorian," and her goal was to make her room look like an old-fashioned kitchen.  I think she succeeded!

Penny from Penny's Vintage Home shared the recipe for this delicious-looking Lemon Zucchini Bread.  I think my husband would love this bread.  Penny's husband actually bakes the bread and Penny makes the icing!

Jessica from Designers Sweet Spot is doing a series on Mason jar gifts.  I think anyone would love to receive a jar of this beautiful Almond Hand Creme, don't you?

Those are just a few of my favorites.  Thank you to everyone who joined the party!  I'm so grateful for each person who links up each week. If you've been featured this week (or in a previous week), feel free to grab the "I was featured" button (the code is right over in my sidebar).  I'd be so proud if you displayed it!

Caring for Myself Body and Soul 10:
Grace at Home party

This month I'm writing each day for 31 days on the topic of Caring for Myself Body and Soul.  But today is Thursday, and it's time for my weekly Grace at Home party.  So for today, I'm caring for myself by pausing to remember that I need to show grace to myself and everyone around me, starting right here at home.

This link party is designed just for that purpose--to celebrate all the ways we make our homes places of grace and love.  Here are a few highlight's from last week's party:

Moni from ZuHaus at Home created a simple and lovely autumn wreath.  Don't you just want to knock on this door?

Diann from The Thrifty Groove set a lovely Harvest Moon table in tribute to our nation's farmers, and she shares the story of the Harvest Moon.  Beautiful!

Do the cooler days make you long for comfort food?  Then you should check out this recipe for Mock Lasagna from The Ferrell Boys and Me!

And you must read this post from Liberty at 16 Balls in the Air.  It's a mother's response to her son's question: "What DO Girls Like?"  You'll love this!

Caring for Myself Body and Soul 3:
Grace at Home

As I begin this journey of 31 Days of Caring for Myself, I'm tempted to do all kinds of new and different things to demonstrate self-care.

But a demonstration is not what I need.  What I need is real practice.  Maybe you do, too.

So today's practice is to embrace my regular routine and have my regularly-scheduled Grace at Home party.  For two reasons:
  1. I can care for myself by embracing routine.  It's easy for me to get tired of the same old, same old, but routine is good for me!
  2. I can care for myself by being inspired by all the ways you strive to make your home a place of grace and love.
Here are a few links I loved from last week's party:

Laura from House of Turquoise shared 11 Ways to add Fall to Your Home.  Beautiful!

11 Ways to Add Fall to Your Home

While you're adding touches of Fall to your home, you might want something very fallish to eat.  You should check out this recipe for Spice Cake from Barefoot Hippie Girl. Caramel Cream Frosting?  Yes, please!

For many of us, of course, Fall means football.  from Chairs from the Curb shared an inspiring reflection from a college football game in "This is the Way; Walk in It."  A wonderful post!

And Becky Kopitzke from Time Out shared an encouraging devotional, "If You Think You're Small and Ordinary."

Grace at Home on a special day

Today is May 17, 2012, and it's time for the weekly Grace at Home party!

But first, I want to tell you why today is so special in my home. My eldest son, Will, was born on this day back in 1991. Today is his 21st birthday!

Will is a joy and a delight, a man of God who is a blessing to all who know him--most particularly to his mom.  I'm so blessed to be the mom of three wonderful boys. It's an amazing privilege to watch them grow into adulthood.

What I'd really like to do is to show you dozens of photos of Will from all stages of his life, but I don't want to embarrass him. Still, I'll share this one from what seems like just a short time ago, but is actually from 1991:

And this one from just a few weeks ago.

And I'll say it once more: the years go by really fast!  If I were to give one piece of advice to a new parent, it would be to make your family a place where grace reigns--grace for your kids and grace for yourself.  Be grateful for God's grace and model yourself after Him!

Now for this week's party!  Grace at Home is a party is a celebration about all the things we do to make our homes places of grace. You can link a post about

  • DIY projects

Whatever you do to make your home a place of grace, I'd like to hear about it. Please link up the permalink for your post, not your blog's home page. Please include a link back to the party and visit with some of the other links.  If you can help me spread the word about the party, I'd surely appreciate it.  And since today is such a special day for me, could I ask a favor?  Could you please take the time to visit the link just before yours?  It's not really a party if no one visits with others.  Thank you!
