Grace at Home No. 318

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here for today's Grace at Home party, where we celebrate all the ways we make our homes places of grace.

I'm delighted to report to you that Autumn FINALLY arrived in North Carolina! It had started to seem as though we were going to be stuck with endless summer, but it's finally cooling down. So now we're getting down to the business of cleaning up after the remnants of Hurricane Michael blew through here last week.

Here are some links from last week's party I thought you'd enjoy.

Rita from Panoply showed us how she decorated her outdoor spaces for Fall. So pretty!

Laura from Decor to Adore showed us how to create wonderful centerpieces for a Scout ceremony. Her son just became an Eagle Scout, but these would be wonderful for any Boy Scout gathering, and many of her ideas could be adapted for Girl Scouts.

I love to collect household tips and tricks, and Chas from Chas' Crazy Creations shared some brilliant tricks for using WD-40. Who knew all the things you could use it for?

I've been looking for some new ideas for dinnertime, so I was delighted to get this recipe for Egyptian lamb chops from Jas at All That's Jas. Don't these look delicious?

As for me, I learned a hard lesson during Hurricane Michael. I wrote about it here, and I'd very much like to know what you think. Please click over and take a look!

A big thank you to everyone who joined last week's party!  I'm so grateful for each person who links up. If you've been featured, feel free to grab the "I was featured" button.  I'd be delighted if you'd like to  display it.

Now for this week's party!  Grace at Home is a place for you to share anything related to making your home a place of grace. I invite you to link posts about

  • DIY projects
  • decorating
  • recipes
  • hospitality
  • homemaking tips
  • parenting
  • marriage
  • faith
  • self-care
  • soul care
Whatever you do to make your home a place of grace, I'd like to hear about it.  Here's what I ask of you.  Please include the permalink to your post, not your blog's home page.  Please let people know that you've linked up.  No more than three posts per person, please.  Note that if you link a post here, you are giving me permission to share your post, including a photo.  And visit at least one of the other party participants--that's what really makes it a party!

  2. Hi Richella thank you so very much for the sweet feature. I had read your post on comparison and it was amazing! I too believe that it is absolutely ok to have feelings. But we must not dwell on them. We must move forward and try to find the rainbow.

  8. Good afternoon, Richella, and thank you so much for the feature of my outdoor spaces. I've been putting in some hours outside with this wonderful fall weather, slowly putting the garden to bed (2 days with sunshine, cool temps and no rain, woohoo!). I did read your post on how we make comparisons - a thoughtful read - relating all too well to those feelings of guilt that come with that comparing our situation to others'. Seeking inner peace through prayer and knowing there is ultimately divine order to all things helps me rest my anxious mind. Thank you for hosting us, and i hope your weekend is full of fall splendor.

On a separate note, I'm sorry you had to endure the storm. I live in Houston, so I've been there, done that! Best wishes on getting back to normal!
