Adjusting to Springtime

It's spring! How lovely it is! But oh, how grueling the transition.

For the past 10 days I've felt like I needed a nap. Have you?

Somehow "springing forward" into Daylight Saving Time ends up affecting me much more than losing one hour of sleep. I've felt downright bedraggled. I've struggled to get out of bed in the morning (it's so dark!). I've struggled with preparing dinner in a timely manner. I've stayed up way too late, and not just on NCAA tournament days.

But I can't complain too much, because here's how my house looked at 5:00 P.M. last week:

Isn't it nice to have light in the evenings?

Oh, Lord, thank you for the seasons.

And Lord, please improve my attitude about Daylight Saving Time.

What about you? Do you struggle with springing forward?

  1. Richella,

I'm quite the opposite. Daylight savings puts a spring in my step. What a joy it is to experience the blossoms on the trees, flowers beginning to bloom, and longer days.

    Happy Holy Week,

  2. I love the cool mornings with warmer afternoons!
    Happy Easter

  3. I actually love the extra daylight hours in the evening....I know my hubby loves it too as he can do yard work after he finishes his work do more work! I love walking in the evenings...

  4. Fortunately, in Arizona, we don't change times ... so, it's just another beautiful day! Hoping you get settled into the new time and start feeling great again! Blessings during this Holy Week, Cindy xo

  5. Hi Richella,

Your home is lovely. I actually like springing ahead because I know we will have more daylight in the evenings. I really need that. And yes, I absolutely love the seasons. Praise the Lord! Thanks so much for sharing.

  6. The outside of your home is absolutely gorgeous, especially in the 5 o'clock light ;) And I'm with you.....daylight savings time is so hard to adjust to. Of course, I always feel the need for a nap, so maybe the two aren't related for me!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment! I read every one; they make my day. If you have a specific question, please be sure your email address is attached to your profile or leave your email address in the comment; I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Every blessing!
