2012 in review

I can scarcely believe that 2012 is nearly over!  I've always heard that the older you get, the faster time flies.  I believe it!

Here are a few of my favorite projects from this year.

I dabbled with homemade chalk painting and turned an old chest from Bombay Co. into a pretty nightstand:

Then I re-did the guest room around the new nightstand!

I turned our bonus room into a very functional space for very little money.

I made some pretty updates to our screened porch for just a few dollars.

I created a gallery wall of mirrors in our master bedroom.

Speaking of mirrors, I made one myself--a clothespin sunburst mirror for the laundry room.

And my favorite project of all was re-doing our "outdoor living room," also known as the front porch.

All in all, it's been a good year at our house; I hope it's been a good year at your house, too!

  1. Blessings to you and thank you for your lovely post.
I, too, am a child of God...I ask Jesus to live in my heart when I was a little girl. I am now in my early sixties and so thankful to have Him dwell with me season after after day.
I love your porches. They make the most perfect sanctuarys. I often go there to pray and just listen to the quiet.
My God richly bless you and those you love this coming year.

  2. I love each of those projects you did Richella! You have a wonderful home...and I love how you treasure it, and take such good care of it! And also how much you enjoy it! I love our home too, and have enjoyed it so much since we built it 6 years ago!

I need to purge some things, and make it feel less crowded. It is amazing how much you accumulate in 6 years! (:>)

  3. Love what you have made this year, Happy New Year and wishing you a blessed 2013!

    xoxo, Tanya

  4. You have a lovely home and you have certainly made it comfortable and welcoming - and as I keep saying "I might be sitting on your couch on the front porch some day" , please let me in!!! haha

  5. Since I'm a newer follower, it was really fun taking this little tour of 2012 with you, Richella. Your blog has become one of my favorites -- always very inspiring!

Have a very Happy New Year!

  6. I remember each of those incredible projects Richella! I'm always inspired by your beautiful home and heart. Wishing you a truly blessed New Year! :-)

  7. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year!

  8. Looks like you've had a really productive year. Wish I had porches like yours...maybe one day.
