Customized Fall Decor

Here I showed how I've decorated our house for fall, including a bit of fluffing around the fireplace.

Well, this past week that decor got customized a bit, with this addition.

To be honest, I think someone just brought the football inside because it needed to be aired up, and it happened to land on the hearth.

But you know the best part? My husband asked my youngest son about the football, and Lee replied, "I think Mom put it there as a decoration."

No, Mom did not put it there. But it fits, don't you think?

  1. Oh I love it. Totally fits, and what a precious remark from your son. Out of the mouths of babes, and yes, they do think we are crazy and put the strangest things in the strangest places. Lol Great post. Hugs, Marty

  2. That's so funny! It actually is appropriate for Fall considering how much football is on tv. Ha!

  6. HA! That's a good one! But it is true that when some people think of Fall they do think of football! (That would not be me! ) Ha!

My hubby went to the Nebraska game today with his brother. He was supposed to be taking me to an Amy Grant/Michael W. Smith concert tonight, but couldn't pass up the football! (:>) Soooo, My oldest daughter and I are going! I am looking forward to it!

Your decorating is always so wonderful. Deflated football and all...it looks wonderful! (:>)

  7. I love the football there. I'm guessing others will borrow your idea for their decor too. Sometimes accidental decorating works! LOL

  8. It fits! It fits!

Calvin came in from a walk with Daddy earlier in the week saying, "I found some things for your blog." He handed me two red berries, two tiny twigs and one of those poky-ball things that falls off some kind of a tree. Apparently I need to photograph them for the blog. ;) Swoony!

  9. Too funny! That sounds like something that would happen in my house. Catie says that she sees Preston walking around campus some. She thinks that they may live in the same dorm. Hope he is doing well! Carla

  10. It does fit in with fall decor, doesn't it? It's SO cute that your son thought you put it there on purpose!

Your dog looks so content in that chair. I think someone lives the good life in your house.

  11. So cute, Richella! I'm kind of laughing to myself because I do not think I've ever had a football inside my house. Ever.
