Back in town

When I first started blogging, I was puzzled by the way bloggers sometimes wrote, "Sorry it's been so long since my last post." After all, there's no schedule for blogging, is there? Aren't people free to post as frequently or as infrequently as they want?

Now that I've been blogging regularly for a year, I get it. Whenever my blogging friends are absent for awhile, I wonder what's up with them. If they're sick, I'd like to know so that I can pray for them. If they're having a bad week, I'd like to express my concern. If they're doing something really interesting, I'd like to know that, too. In short, I like this way of sharing life and being connected to people.

So just in case you were wondering where I've been the last several days, I'll give you a hint:

The anniversary trip of a lifetime. More details later. For now, does anyone have any tips for dealing with jet lag?

My best advice for jet lag is to try NOT to take naps during the day if you can help it. You may feel like you're going to die if you don't go to bed at 5 pm, but if you can force yourself to stay awake until even 7:30 and then get up at a decent hour the next morning, your body will readjust a normal sleep pattern more quickly. Also, keeping active during the day will help.

Can't wait to hear all about your trip! J'adore Paris!

YAY!!!! :) I knew you'd have a blast and can't wait to see your pics. I bet your hair will look much better than I did in my 1997 Eiffel Tower pics. ;)

So glad you're back. I missed you too. :)

Crazy! I was just thinking about you this week and wondering when that trip was going to transpire. Oh, you lucky, lucky girl! Can't wait to hear and see more. So glad it was amazing...it's Paris, of course, so I wasn't exactly worried about the amazing part. : )

And now I am suddenly craving cheese, amazing bread, and a glass of wine!

How wonderful, Richella! My best jet lag tip is to get on our time as soon as possible - no napping until it's time to go to bed, and eat when it's your regular mealtime. It worked for me when I came back from living in Spain. :)

Looking forward to getting back to blogging!

Paris! I lived so close for so many years and yet never went. I did go to the south of France a few times and hopped across the channel to go buy cheap wine (that was many years before the Euro tunnel). Bet you had a wonderful time.

How wonderful!!! I can't wait to read and see more... so sorry about your toe, though!! Poor thing! Our life has been so busy with the end of school for 3 kids, broken computers, a teenager who monopolizes my computer, and precious times with my Bible study ladies! I hope to get back to blogging soon... I can't believe I hardly even read blogs these days. Blessings!!!
