A reasonable contribution

I have three sons.

One day, I hope to have three daughters-in-law. And I would hope that those daughters-in-law would have been Girl Scouts.

So it seems reasonable that I would be a person who would gladly buy Girl Scout cookies, doesn't it?

Ten boxes seems pretty reasonable, don't you think?

  1. That's a great opening line when you meet your future daughter-in-law. "So, were you a Girl Scout?" ;) I love the Samoas!!! Soooo glad no one has tried to sell me any this year. (PS. My mom made me be a GS, and I HATED selling the cookies b/c I was so painfully shy. I made my little sister--3 years younger than me--do all the talking) :s

  2. I love Thin Mints but can no longer bring them into the house or else I will eat them all!!! This is a dangerous time of year!

  3. Thin Mints are my favorite! I am not buying any this year though because I've been known to polish off a whole box in one sitting. That's awful. haha

  4. oh yes, i think that ten is reasonable. but what does that make my 12? laura sold cookies for years and years... but is no longer a girl scout. but our neighbors are!

i have a strict rule about girl scout cookies :) the girl has to ask me (not the mom!) and i will buy at least one box. i had to start this rule when i was working at the elementary school... i can't bear to say no to one of them who has the courage to ask, and that first year i ended up with far more than the reasonable number! i'm not sure i even have a favorite...

  6. Very reasonable. But I don't have any kids yet, so I can't use the daughter-in-law card just yet. Do you have any other ideas how I can explain a reasonable contribution of say 5 or 50 boxes of Thin MInts?

  8. I once went through a whole box of Samoas in one sitting. I didn't know I had it in me, kind of just happened. That was back in my college days when I also ate icing for fun. I miss those eat what I want and not gain a pound days. Still though, Samoas are my fave.

  9. :)) 10 Boxes reasonable?? Well, it depends on if the recipients/consumers will notice and/or be content with 2 boxes each....or if they will 'notice' that they've been eaten during the 6 weeks that Will is tenting and can't get to them. :)) And it might be a good ice breaker when you meet those future daughters-in-law. Funny! Eat a thin mint for me...we ate ours already!
