Spa time

Remember this chair I re-purposed for my bathroom. I like my bathroom--it's not humongous like you find in some houses, but it's plenty big, and it has a nice tub.

Until recently, though, the tub was most often used by our youngest son. Behold: a spa for Bionicles.

I decided that I wanted to reclaim this spot for my husband and me. So I set out to make the atmosphere more spa-like using some things I had around the house.

This basket used to hold--guess what?--Legos. And water guns. And toy boats. Those went to a plastic basket in the cupboard, and towels went in the basket.

I took an old hurricane globe and filled the bottom with seashells. Makes a nice candle holder by the tub.

This silver shell I found at Target a couple of years ago. I think I paid $4.88 for it, and I put it away, thinking that someday I'd find a good use for it. I like using it to hold bath salts and things.

And here's the whole area.

Very spa-like, I think. But now it's a spa for people!

Now I just need to make some time to get in the tub myself.

Oh, I love it! The before picture reminds me of my master bath! It is full of cars, squirt toys and nesting cups.
Slowly and surely, I'll reclaim my serene spa space like you did! It looks great.

A lovely, grownup space! Now make sure you've got a good lock on that bathroom door. . . .

There should be some "sacred" adult spots in a house! You have created a lovely one. You can still invite the bionics every now and then :)

That's much better. Spa for Bionicles, bah! Spas make Bionicles soft and lazy and they cannot fight ;D

Looks fabulous. Love the little silver bowl---yay for Target clearance--and all of the other beachy touches.

My son says her prefers the first picture though--he's a huge bionicle fan. : )

Beautiful Richella! But where do the Bioncles bathe now??? I'm drooling more and more over these before and afters since I'm not home and can't actually DO any of them right now. So I'm dreaming alot. I need you to help me with my window treatments when I get home!

Looks very relaxing Richella, but you're right, the key is trying to find time to get in it ;-) Hope you do!
