I really wanted to let him go, but my girls were terrified and kept begging me to do the little guy in. My two-year-old was all too happy to smash at his web with a shovel. That is even a scary name, isn't it??? We had lots of them in Charleston. The one thing that I do NOT suggest doing is smashing it. They carry their eggs/babies on their back. On two different occasions, I forced ( and I do mean force as he is screaming that it is bigger than his shoe!) him to kill them, and hundreds of babies go scurrying off! He had to get the leaf blower to blow them out of the garage!
