When we are able to all be together its always such a wonderful time for me and always goes by much too quickly. Its funny now that our nest is empty, I'm not enjoying cooking much anymore. However, when I know the kids will be here I cook up a storm and love every minute of it! lol
It does take time to adjust, so allow yourself to be sad if you want to be.
Take care
JeannetteJenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12434028465184764601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6758915940467026052.post-4246768007895153962015-09-10T10:25:44.551-04:002015-09-10T10:25:44.551-04:00Such a beautiful post. I worked with a woman who had 5 children and she always said that "You raise your children to grow up and leave you". BUT You are always there when they need you or need to come home........
My sons have lived on their own for over 5 years now and I enjoy being an empty nester but I do enjoy when they come over for dinner and Holidays and spend time talking and laughing. It is almost more special then when they lived at home.......

Hugs,
DebDebbie-Dabble Blog and A Debbie-Dabble Christmashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09393980831584145593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6758915940467026052.post-50272174299566482282015-09-10T08:45:05.384-04:002015-09-10T08:45:05.384-04:00Beautiful metaphor for your experience. The lesson was as we scury about life making plans for tomorrow and next week ... we truely canot make our plans. Our lives are but a vapor, in this earthly body things can change so very quickly ! As you learned a year ago. In just a few seconds our lives can change dramatically. We all need to learn to take each day each hour as a precious gift from our Heavenly Father . Without Him in our lives we just wonder thru life. By the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ each day should be the adventures of laughter and loving others just as Christ did !! I am so happy you shared your story about your son. Praise God he is a healthy man today! It just brings to home how fast our lives can be taken to another place...we had not planned for that day. I am so greatful we have the gift of each new day as a do-over !! Just in case we need to grow in an area. I didn't mean to have such a long reply. But it sure hit the nail on the head with the words of apostle James. Smiles Laughter and many Blessings to you and your family. Respectfully Maryeln : )*
P.S. I love your beautiful chair. The color is fabulous! I have been looking at so many shades of grey..to paint my kitchen cabinets. If you have a favorite you think would look good on cabinets? Please feel free to share the color and the brand.Sugarcreek M Schlamerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14142015113361421088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6758915940467026052.post-48515100143991973542015-09-09T23:42:31.546-04:002015-09-09T23:42:31.546-04:00That was just beautiful! I'll never look at an empty bird's nest the same again. I pray you experience the sweet peace that only comes from your Heavenly Father. H...Richella, this post touched my heart so deeply! How hard it must have been to see your son suffer a stroke at his young age! I am so thankful to God that he is doing well now! What a difference a year can make in our lives!

The empty nest may take a little bit of adjusting, but it will be nice for you and your husband to have alone time with each other for awhile. :) And I am sure that the Lord will bring beautiful things your way as you spend time with Him in devotion, and study together. My husband and I love devotion time and we pray for all those around us that we love so much! And if you are anything like me, as a mother, you will keep busy praying for them each and every day as their lives continue to change. Someday before too long they may find wives and start families...and that will be so exciting for you when the grandkids start coming along!

May God bless you greatly Richella!
Love and Prayers,
Linda HogelandLindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17751356958497450109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6758915940467026052.post-44862994877978960522015-09-09T20:45:02.724-04:002015-09-09T20:45:02.724-04:00What a sweet post. My youngest went off to college 11 years ago and what a time of transition it turned out to be. It was very hard to let go of that sweet time of raising a family but it also began my greatest time of personal and spiritual growth and opened new opportunities for my husband and me to do ministry together. Who knows what's next for you in this new season but I know that God has some special things in mind for you. God bless you and your sweet family.
Love & hugs,
PattiAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02897728865673891051noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6758915940467026052.post-29413128867281585412015-09-09T17:23:06.683-04:002015-09-09T17:23:06.683-04:00Beautifully written.
