Grace at Home No. 39--Welcome!

Welcome, friends!  I'm so glad you're here for this week's Grace at Home party.  Every Thursday, week after week, I host this little party to celebrate the ways we make our homes places of grace.

At this point I usually feature some of my favorite posts from last week's party.  But last Thursday, none of us had any idea how tragedy would pierce our hearts the very next day.  Last Friday's shootings in Newtown, Connecticut cut us to the very quick.  Our hearts are broken at the deaths of the precious children and school staff members.

As I reflected on the horrors of last Friday's events, I realized afresh how much we need God's grace, and what a privilege it is to try to make our homes a reflection of that grace.  My prayer is that this little party can encourage us to persevere in that effort.

Now more than ever, we thank God for his grace.

What are you doing to make your home a place of grace?  Share it with us!

I hope it's O.K. that I'm linking up one of my posts that was a guest post on a friend's blog. Just sharing the love!

When I apologized at spending time on fluffing my home, a wiser woman once told me that my home was a sanctuary I create for my husband. Sometimes we forget just how valuable a beautiful and peaceful home is to our family. And now family seems ever so fragile. We need our sanctuaries as we seek to hold the torch high in the world.
Merry Christmas Richella!

Thanks so much for hosting, Richella. I didn't get to do much visiting from last week's party, but I'm off from school now and am looking forward to browsing the links.
