Hope Renewed

Thank you all for praying for our dear friends and neighbors. The accidental death of their son has broken their hearts and ours as well.

As we have tried to help in whatever ways we could, we have seen them grieve. Their pain is indescribable. And yet, even in the face of such pain, they have hope. They are Christians, and their son was a Christian. So even while they miss him so much they can barely stand up, they are looking forward with great eagerness to the day when they will see their son again. That hope is anchored in the truth of God's love, and it is sustaining them.

I've been involved a project that, with amazing timing, came to fruition this week. In the works for several months is a new community site called Sisters In Bloom. Denise Thompson created the site and gathered a number of writers to contribute. The official launch was this week. Even better, the official launch includes a free eBook for anyone who would like to download it. The name of the eBook?

Hope Renewed: True Stories of God's Promises Fulfilled

Hope matters. We never know what circumstances life holds. But we have God's promises, and we know that "hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us" (Romans 5:5).

Perhaps you need to read some stories of hope as much as I do today. Head over to Sisters in Bloom and download your copy (nothing to fill out, no strings attached--this is our gift to you). May your heart be encouraged as you read the stories of how God has fulfilled His promises in so many ways.

Do you have a story of how God has fulfilled His promises to you? I'd love to hear about it.

Hi Richella, I've been absent from blogland the past week because my grandmother passed away a week ago yesterday.- Thank you for the encouragement and reminder that hope is indeed our anchor in times like these! How people survive loss who do not have the hope of Christ is beyond me...
Hope you are well. I'm sure you have been an amazing encouragement to your friends as you condole and minister to them in their time of need.

Hi pretty Richella: Oh my life is our Christ, he's the only one I can really turn myself to when I'm happy, when I'm sad and worried and He, with my faith in Him in no time everything is fixed! What a sad story about your friends, but only God wil give them the piece they deserve and will unite them one day. We went thru something like this with our niece when she lost her young son on a motocicle accident and now she's calm and back to a "new" normal following her faith of the Lord. Very inspiring, thank you so much and have a blessed weekend.

God bless your neighbors and give you the wisdom to say and do the right thing at the right time...and talk...talk to them about their son and let them know that you have not forgotten him. That is one of the saddest parts of losing a child. xo Diana

I've been praying, Richella, and shall continue to do so for your friends, their son and your son and family.

A friend of mine at church and I were praying together this week (on a different subject) and he sent me this Psalm: "Praise the Lord, who heals the brokenhearted." That has gotten me through this past week. I hope it helps you.

I love Sisters in Bloom!

XO

Praying for your neighbor's family and your family as well! I think I read about the accident in the Herald while looking for an obituary of my grandmother's friend. So sad & so sudden! Life is so precious - what a reminder of that. I'll be sure to head over to Sisters In Bloom.

Hi Richella,
Praying for your neighbors: Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus...I lift up this mother and father. Give them YOUR peace Lord, the peace that passes ALL understanding. Send your Holy Spirit to comfort them Lord, the way only YOU can comfort Lord. Help those close to them by giving them the words of comfort to say. And speak to these parents and family members through Your Word and even dreams, the blessed assurance that their son is with You. Help them Lord, we are trusting You, in Jesus's name Amen
