Show me the progress!

The lovely and talented Amanda from Serenity Now is hosting a cool party today. You may have seen her last party, Decorating Dilemmas. Today she's giving us a chance to display the progress we've made toward solving the decorating dilemmas we shared (or to display progress we're making in any endeavor).

For the Decorating Dilemmas party, I showed y'all my kitchen barstools and asked if you thought I should paint them. A number of people gave me advice (thank you!), and your thoughts were that I should go for it! Black was far and away the color choice suggested. The Dilemmas party was just what I needed to get me going on this project. I'd hemmed and hawed for years, wondering what I should do with these stools. Now my mind is most definitely made up.

So what progress have I made? Well, I'm sad to say that I haven't gotten the stools painted yet. I'm going to spray-paint them, and the weather here just hasn't been warm enough yet for a big outside paint job. But I have found a fabric to re-cover the seats of the barstools. Check it out:

Now just imagine that stool is painted a glorious black and the seats are covered with this fabric. Do you like it?

Here's the fabric lying on one of the chairs at my table. I like the way the two fabrics work together:

So what do you think? Am I on the right track?

Check out all the great projects at Amanda's party! Or join yourself to show us the progress you've made lately!

I LOVE your fabric choice, Richella!!! Trés chic!! ;) I don't blame you for not wanting to spray paint in frigid weather. I can almost see myself venturing out this week, b/c it is warmer, but I'm not sure yet. They will look perfect when they're all gussied up. :)

Thank you so much for linking up, my friend. :)

Love the fabric, I think they will look amazing once painted black and then recovered. I plan on painting my old bar stools this weekend.... black of course ;)

Richella, that fabric is gorgeous! It will look so good on those barstools and them painted black. So chic and sophisticated! Love it! I just wanted to tell you how many times I have thought of you and all the sweet comments you leave me...Thank you. It means so much and I know how genuine you are...I adore you! :) I hope things are doing well for you and it sounds like you have many projects like me going on. I had to make a makeshift paint booth out of cardboard in the garage to get spray painting done...just open the garage half way and wear a jacket. lol I didn't let winter stop me...if there is a will, there is a way! :) Of course at this moment...we can't fit our cars in the garage because of all the projects going on...someday. I so miss my 3 car garage back in NM *sigh*

Hugs to you my friend,
Victoria

great pick of fabric. i think i was one of the few not voting for black stools, but black is always a good choice.

thanks for the grammar tips. i was mortified last week when i realized that i have been so guilty of giving an apostrophe to its, when it could stand alone. now, if i could just stop saying greezee instead of greasy, i'd be perfect. hah! i need all the help i can get.

Love it!

And I really like that you got a coordinating fabric, instead of a matching fabric - good eye :)

I love the fabric that you chose for your stools and think that it will look perfect once you get them painted black.

I love love love that fabric!! Very classy. It's hasn't been spray-painting weather around here either (for months!), I feel your paint (but it is a good excuse isn't it?) ;)

Thanks for visiting my blog and your sweet comments about my kitchen, yours is very beautiful as well, love the green. :)
